No tracking

We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and pages don’t load anything from other websites — our fonts and images are served from this site.

Cookies we do use

• Suggestion form: when you open the suggest a change form, a session cookie (vh_form) is set so we can check the form really came from this site. It is deleted when you close your browser and is only sent to the /suggest/ pages.
• Admin: the site owner’s admin area uses its own session cookie. Visitors never receive it.

What the suggestion form stores

When you send a suggestion we store what you type: the type of change, the shop, your message, any link you give and — only if you choose to give it — your email address, with the date and time. We use this only to check and update the directory and, if you gave your email, to reply about your suggestion. We delete suggestions once they’re no longer needed, normally within 12 months. To limit spam we keep a short-lived, one-way scrambled code made from your internet address, which can’t be turned back into the address and is normally deleted within a few days.

Links to other websites

Links to shops and other sites go through a short redirect on this site (/go/…). We count clicks per link (the link and the page it was on — nothing about you). Once you arrive on another website, its own privacy policy applies; Amazon and other affiliate partners may use cookies to record that you came from us.

Videos

If we ever show a YouTube video, nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; then YouTube’s privacy policy applies.

Server logs

Like all websites, our web host keeps standard server logs (such as internet address, page requested and browser type) for security and troubleshooting, for a limited time.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete a suggestion you sent, by emailing hello@headrowshoppingcentre.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
